[gelöst] Bildstörungen nach Upgrade auf Suse Leap 42.3

Hallo,
nach Upgrade von Suse 42.2 auf 42.3 habe ich Bildstörungen auf meinem 10 Jahre alten Notebook. Fenster erscheinen erst nach Mausbewegung. Dialogfenster erscheinen nicht gleich - zunächst sehe ich nur ein Streifenmuster etc. - das alles auch bei deaktivierten Bildschirmeffekten.

Nun, wenn ich mit einem älteren Kernel boote, geht wieder alles normal. Immerhin eine Lösung, die mir in meiner Not eingefallen ist.

Mit diesem Kernel habe ich die Störungen: 4.4.92-31-default

Aber das kann es wohl nicht sein, denke ich. Sicher ein Treiberproblem. Leider blicke ich da immer wieder nicht durch, wie das unter Linux organisiert ist. Wie komme ich zu einem passenden Treiber.

Bin YAST User aber natürlich auch Konsolenbenutzer :eek:ps:

Warum erscheinen da 2 Einträge als Grafikkarten?

Ansonsten könnte /var/log/Xorg.0.log zum Zeitpunkt des "gestörten Betriebs" helfen (die Datei wird bei jedem Start[-Versuch] von Xorg neu erzeugt).

Da das Notebook schon älter ist, könnte es auch ein Problem mit SNA haben.

Lies mal hier:

Erstelle wie dort angegeben eine xorg.conf (steht oben in dem Artikel) und setze auf uxa (das ist die ältere Methode) (Details im verlinkten Artikel).

Dann abmelden und wieder anmelden, damit die Änderungen wirksam werden (bzw., wenn Du sowieso mit dem älteren Kernel gebootet hast, neustarten mit dem neueren Kernel).

Ansonsten bitte natürlich auch den Hinweisen von Josef nachgehen. Hier hätte ich insbesondere die drm backports in Verdacht, dass hier die Versionen nicht zusammenpassen.

Einen Treiber "herunterladen" und "installieren" braucht man bei Intel Grafikchips grundsätzlich nicht, die Treiber sind Teil des Kernels. Normalerweise braucht man nicht mal was zu konfigurieren.

Ich habe das Upgrade mit der DVD gemacht.
Vor dem Update waren keine besonderen Repos aktiviert.

In der Xorg.0.log sehe ich nichts Besorgniserregendes. Sauerland empfiehlt bei 42.3 öfter die Entfernung des Pakets drm-kmp-default.

@Sauerland: Das steht in dem von mir verlinkten Artikel auch ganz genau so drin. Ist trotzdem eine "xorg.conf", auch wenn sie dann 20-intel ... usw heißt.

Ja, das war es anscheinend. Ich habe folgende Datei angelegt und die Bildstörungen sind verschwunden.

Ich habe diese Art von Bildstörung auch auf einem älteren Lifebook mit Mobile GM965/GL960 von Intel (mit Leap 42.3 und Plasma). Bei mir startete der Rechner nach Anlegen der empfohlenen Datei nicht durch in den Runlevel 5. Aber sofort mit dem Löschen der Datei ging der Bootvorgang weiter. So kann's auch sein ...

Wie waren denn die Rechte für diese Datei gesetzt, insbesondere die Leserechte? Es ist ja nichts unmöglich, aber doch zumindest unwahrscheinlich, dass wegen einer korrekt angelegten Datei mit einem harmlosen (weil "konservativen") Parameter das Gerät nicht mehr startet.

Oder doch: Wenn z.B. in den Compositoreinstellungen Open GL3.1 eingestellt war, was dann (vermute ich) unter uxa nicht zur Verfügung steht.

So, ich habe jetzt nochmal ein paar Dinge probiert.

Die Rechte der Datei 50-intel.conf sind genau dieselben wie bei den anderen Dateien.
Die Arbeitsflächeneffekte habe ich ausgeschaltet.
Das Paket drm-kmp-default habe ich gelöscht.

Nichts hat eine Besserung gebracht. Es ist auch egal, welche Rendereinstellung beim Compositor angesagt ist: gl3 oder xrender.

Edit: wenn ich die Zeilen in der Datei drin habe, startet X nicht, ich erhalte in der Log-Datei diese Ausgabe:
